Rosie is our local pub which we used to love . We had a couple of mediocre meals post COVID and we were a bit put off. However recently we've seen the menu changes and heard some good reviews again so decided to give it another go. We went for dinner a couple of weeks ago and it was flawless. Delicious food, excellent service and a warm atmosphere. (Probably the best mussels ive ever had). This morning after seeing it advertised on social media we popped in for breakfast. There was only one member of staff in - lovely Vicky. She was warm, welcoming and explained she wasn't the chef but could still do the breakfasts if we wanted one. Honestly, if she hadn't said anything we wouldn't have known. Once again everything was delicious. Very happy that our locals back to being the good ol' Rosie again! X Would recommend! Thankyou !

My son took me for a belated Mother’s Day breakfast. It was lovely . Great atmosphere. Very helpful staff. We were served by SJ who was lovely. I had scrambled egg and avocado toast with extra smoked salmon and it was fantastic. Highly recommend and I will be back! Thank you

It was an unplanned visit to R&C for Sun lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by excellent service from all members of staff, delicious food and a unique atmosphere with tiny touches which leaves nice memories of this lovely place. It will be highly recommended by us and we will definitely return soon😊👌🏼 Kid-friendliness: Smaller portions available for those kids who like to choose their favourite food from main adult menu, also big choice of drinks.

Having read all the nice reviews I was expecting a nice please family meal. Unfortunately starters were cold. Mains were cold. We did bring attention to manger who was very professional and accepted our view. Also long time waiting which was not a problem as gave evening to chat. It was very busy with a wedding. Sorry average review but for prices paid. ( was reduced ) and what you would expect, we prefer to have the decent food. However very professional front of house staff. So we think one off.

We have had some lovely vegan Sunday roast dinners in the past at the Rose and Crown, but today we went in on a Monday for a family special get together. Very disappointed with the boring and not very healthy vegan main course choices, burger or sausages. I had the sausage and mash, there was not even any veg, plus it was very expensive for what i had. Going out for a meal should be a treat. I could have cooked something so much better at home. The staff were all very nice, but I don't rate the chef who was on today or maybe it was the fault of the person who devised the menu. Anyone can make boring basic food, it was not the chef standard i expect for that price, we spent nearly £200. We love the pub, so please turn this around. Dietary restrictions: Could have better vegan options

Food is amazing, when they get the order right. Most visits are affected by a service issue. The last visit we were charged for a large roast when we had ordered a small one. When we questioned the bill the waitress said that they don't do a small roast, when we replied that yes you do, she resorted to saying she didn't hear us. Which is it? Previous visit, cheese on burger despite requesting no cheese. Another time we were presenting with a vegan roast when ordered a vegetarian one. The service is the only let down for a lovely pub with great food.

Table for 2 Absolutely fabulous food. Only complaint is that the veg bowl that came alongside the roast which we thought was for one ended up being for two. We had to cut the broccoli in half as only one piece and the cauliflower cheese was 2 florets the size of button mushrooms @£20 ahead we did feel a little ripped off. Staff were really lovely. Service was excellent.

Had our first meal at The Rose & Crown this afternoon, impromptu family gathering & it was superb! Delicious first class food & service, they even made it special for mum's birthday which later in the week. Highly recommend & we will be regulars. Lovely kids menu & nothing too much trouble, thank you! 👌

Stayed here for a couple nights for work. Very quick and easy check in, staff show you to your room. Clean and nicely done building, amazing bed, hot shower, great selection of coffees and biscuits in the room with water. Food in the the pub is incredible, and the Sirloin steak and fish and chips. Great selection of beers, log fire which is a great bonus. Delicious breakfast with a vast selection of continental or cooked. Staff all around have been amazing. Definitely be back!

I stayed here as I was doing a course nearby and it was perfect, better than I expected. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and warm, nice extras provided like teas and biscuits the toiletries were lovely quality and plentiful of them. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, my only comment would be perhaps a bit to salty but then that can be down to taste. But it was lovely place to stay, eat, have a drink. If need to stay up that way again I will be booking again.
